And observing the misconstructions which occur in the Freedoms and Exemptions to the Colonists, the adjourned members shall therefore come to resume the same and bring with them the lists of their receipt, together with the names of those, who are admitted as Planters. The Directors of the West India Company have informed us that one of their ships, named de Eendracht, coming from New Netherland and touching at Plymouth, in England, was seized there; first, on pretence that the cargo of the ship was procured in the English Colonies; next, tiiat the Company had appropriated some countries belonging to the English; notwithstanding said trade was prosecuted at such places in New Netherland; to wit, between the North and South Rivers; which have been always in the peaceable and uncontroverted possession of the Company; and those of said Company have never encroached on the English.
