An advertisement from the May 30, 1908 Highland Democrat announced "Something New!" promoting the Nikko Tea House located on the Croton River in Harmon, where "Cool Breezes blow even on the warmest days."

The New York Times described the Nikko Tea House as "perched on the precipitous bank of the Croton River" with rustic construction, surrounded by "a dense grove of pines and cedars, in which are many picturesque summer houses."
