Thomas Scharf (1886)] His request was granted, and the territory was erected into a Lordship and Manor, containing eighty-three thousand acres, the fees amounting "to three hundred pieces of eight." -The charter pro-vides for the holding of Court Leet and Court Baron,4 and gives all advowsons and rights of patronage over all churches that may be built on the manor, appoint-ing also the Lord of the Manor sole and only Ranger, with all the rights that belong unto a Ranger, as in "Our realm of England."
