GENTLEMEN : — The Officers of the North Carolina have had the honor to receive the polite invita- tion from the Common Council of the city of New York to join with them on the 14th day of October, in celebrating the introduction of the Croton water. The Boys of the Naval School will be in attendance if the weather should be favorable, if not, the want of wi nter clothing, which has not been received on board, will prevent their appearance.
